Week 2- 2.1 - Database Conversion

This week's task is fairly hard as knowledge about database is needed such as normalization which i'm dont really recall. Had to do some revising and some reading to get back the idea on the normalization and data dependency.

Another hard part is actually reading the database spreadsheet and understanding the relations between the data and to see which data to be used for a certain query in the database.

The task seems realistic enough as we would have to manage database like this in the real world and even more complicated database exist in the real world.

Week 1

The power of relational database standards.

I had no problems accessing the Grocery Database using Microsoft access , it was explained thoroughly in the lecture and the videos on moodle helped too. From what i understand , OBDC is a open connection which allows user to access a database and microsoft access is a database client which we use to access the database. I know database can be imported to excel but i reckon its only for read only purposes. It is still best to use database based softwares to make changes to a database something like Mysql.
